Give Thanks

Hi Ladies,

This week as we celebrate Thanksgiving, we are reminded of the abundance of earthly things we have been given to us by our God.  We rejoice in our family, our friendships and in our church family.  We are thankful for our health and our freedom in this country.  Most of all, we are thankful that our Savior came down and washed our sins away so that we may live an eternal life with HIM one day.
When we sit back and meditate this Thanksgiving, let's talk about how we not only FEEL thankful but how we SHOW that we are thankful.  1 Thessalonians 5:18 says "Give thanks in ALL circumstances, for this is the will of God for you."

How do you think you show true thankfulness in your life? Even when the circumstances may not be what you would have envisioned?

  1. I think it can be very easy to say I am thankful, but I know I don't always show it. I do a lot of grumbling. I am afraid to admit how many times I roll my eyes during a day. Danny says I have perfected "the Heavy Sigh." I have no poker face either. When I open the Christmas gift of the paper shredder (true story), I struggle to look like I am blown away with excitement and joy. When, the bills come rolling in and I really want to buy a new sweater instead, I grumble that it's not the right time for that now instead of rejoicing that God provided for us for yet another month. When people disapoint, when the day turns for the worst, when the goal isn't reached and when the heart seems like it is taking on too much, how do I not only FEEL thankful but SHOW it? I really want the inside to reflect the outside. To not fake a smile, to laugh when I want to cry, to give of my time when I just want to take more time for me. This is a journey for me. Partly why I posted the question.
